Recycling & Waste

Recyclables
 
10 and 120 South Riverside currently has a recycling program in place that is in full compliance with the City of Chicago Recycling Ordinance. Recycling is picked up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Trash should be separated into recyclable products and wet waste. You may order additional containers by submitting a request in the Work Order System.
 
Paper recyclables should be discarded in the existing receptacles located at each desk. Most of these receptacles will not have a plastic liner. The following are examples of recyclables:
 
  • Mixed Use Paper (copy, letterhead, envelopes, etc.)
  • Cardboard
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines

Recyclable Cans and Bottles should be discarded in the existing receptacles marked appropriately. These receptacles will be lined with white or clear trash bags. Please empty the contents of your items before placing in the recycling receptacle. The following are considered recyclable:
 
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Plastic Drinking Bottles
  • Plastic Containers
  • Glass Bottles

Wet Waste
 
Non-recyclables are to be discarded into the black receptacles that are located at each desk as well as in kitchens/pantries. The following are examples of non-recyclables:
 
  • Food products
  • Food containers and utensils (including glass and plastic)
  • Food wrappers

Bulk Trash
 
Submit a request in the Work Order System to make arrangements for removing bulk items. There will be a charge for removal and disposal. Such items include:
 
  • Furniture
  • Computer equipment
  • Wooden delivery pallets
  • Construction debris
  • Excessive amounts of recyclable or non-recyclable waste, such as that generated before a move-out, after a move-in, or during a file purge will include an additional charge.

Electronic Waste, Batteries, and Toner Cartridges are collected at the loading dock and recycled.
